A MOUNTAIN BIKE ADVENTURE THROUGH SPECTACULAR ALPINE SCENERY AROUND EUROPE'S HIGHEST MOUNTAIN!
The ultimate Mountain biking experience for anybody who shares the idea of having to earn your way down by riding up first. Starting from Verbier we will ride around the Mont Blanc in 6 days. Enjoy the change in surroundings, culture and cuisine while travelling through 3 countries, Switzerland, Italy and France. Every day we will be crossing a high mountain pass with stunning views over the Alps and a rewarding descent into a new valley. Overnight in a local guesthouse, hotel or mountain hut. Your luggage is transported every day so you only need to bring a small daypack on your ride.
The trip will be guided by experienced guides. They have a great knowledge of the area and besides being skilled mountain bikers they are first aid trained and have great mechanical skills to do repairs on the trail. They will make sure you have the trip of a lifetime.
During the trip we will transport your luggage to each overnight stay in accommodation that suits the character of the journey such as a local family run hotel, mountain cabin or alpine chalet. Room preferences will be accommodated wherever possible but in general you will be sharing a room and in some locations we will need to share a room/dormitory with multiple persons.
On a tour like this good food is of major importance. All meals are inclusive (except the dinner in Chamonix). Breakfast and dinner will be enjoyed at the hotel each day and we will provide you with a packed lunch on a daily basis. On our rides we will have the opportunity to enjoy a cold drink or extra meal at a mountain cabin or local restaurant.
Your bike will need to be in top condition. We recommend riding a full suspension bike with gears 22-32-44 in front and 11-13-15-17-20-23-26-30-34 rear cassette. You will definitely need the use of a 34.
On request rental bikes can be arranged through us.
This Trans-Alps ride is a challenging journey for the adventurous mountain biker with good fitness, endurance and perseverance, capable of handling a mountain bike on steep technical climbs and descents on single track. We have kept the riding on asphalt to a minimum so most kilometers will be in the dirt.
Clearly this ride demands good preparation.
- Make sure you have ridden a good number of kilometers in the months leading up. Make sure to make a number of day trips of at least 4-5 hours in the saddle.
- Get used to riding with a backpack of approx 5kg.
